Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Alonify mobile application (“App”), provided by Maximilian Rechenauer (private individual), Am Stadtrand 43, 8600 Dübendorf, Switzerland. By installing or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
Alonify is a peace-of-mind tool that lets you signal “I'm OK” on a daily rhythm of your choice. If you miss a check-in, the App sends an email alert to the emergency contacts you have set up.
2. Not an emergency service — IMPORTANT
Alonify is not an emergency service, medical device, or alarm system. Do not rely on it to summon help in a life-threatening situation. In an emergency, contact your local emergency number immediately: 112 (EU), 911 (US/Canada), 144 (Switzerland — ambulance), 117 (Switzerland — police), 999 (UK).
Email delivery, internet connectivity, push notifications, and third-party services may fail or be delayed for reasons outside our control. We make no guarantee that an alert will reach your contacts in any specific timeframe.
3. Subscriptions & Pricing
Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription:
- Monthly: USD 1.99 per month
- Annual: USD 12.99 per year
Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal price is charged within 24 hours before the new period begins.
You can manage and cancel your subscription anytime in iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. After cancellation, Pro features remain active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
4. Free trial
Pro starts with a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
5. Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the App to harass, abuse, or send unwanted communications to others. The App enforces rate limits and content moderation; abuse may result in account termination without refund.
7. Account & data
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. You may delete your account at any time from inside the App; deletion is immediate and irreversible.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any harm resulting from delayed or undelivered alerts.
10. Governing law & jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Exclusive jurisdiction lies with the competent courts of Dübendorf, Canton of Zurich, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The new version takes effect when posted here. Material changes will be announced in the App. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance.
